The replacement mortuary brings together services provided by NHS Grampian, Aberdeen City Council, Police Scotland, the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service, and the University of Aberdeen within a single multi purpose facility serving North East Scotland and the Northern Isles.
Constructed on a constrained sloping site at the Forresterhill Health Campus, the building is arranged over two levels to respond to site and operational requirements. The structural design supported flexible post mortem and teaching spaces, discreet service areas and a domestic scaled public frontage finished in facing brick with pitched roofs.
